Our Optometrists

Timothy Tippett, OD

Dr. Tippett learned small town values growing up in Vidalia, GA. After graduating high school, he attended Georgia Southern College where he studied pre-med and played football. After serving an eighteen month church mission to Ecuador, South America, he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1991. Afterwards he completed an externship with glaucoma specialist, Dr. Harvey DuBiner, M.D., and became certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease as recognized by the International board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Tippett continues to keep abreast of the current treatment for ocular diseases.

Dr Tippett has been in Augusta since 1992. He is married to Denise and they are the parents of four children: Addison, Dallin, Braden, and Jaren. They are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and support ballet, scouting, swimming and other wholesome community activities.

Macy Caldwell, OD

Dr. Macy Caldwell grew up on Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Ashland University where she was a track and field All-American Heptathlete and Hurdler. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Ohio State University College of Optometry where she completed internships in ocular disease, binocular vision, cataract and laser vision correction management, and contact lenses. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, climbing, being on the water, coaching track, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.

About Tippett Eye Care

Here at Tippett EyeCare, we have been dedicated to providing the highest quality vision eye care for over 20 years. We offer basic routine eye exams with a diverse selection of designer frames and custom hard-to fit contacts. The American Optometric Association recommends that all people should have a periodic, comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on ones particular needs. We offer full medical testing and supervision for any vision related medical problems or diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and emergency eye care. Our office takes the health and safety of our patients and team very seriously. After careful consideration, Tippett Eye Care has elected to reduce our services at both locations for the unforeseeable future.

Although our office will be closed, we will have a team on hand to answer questions, make appointments, take eyewear and contact lens orders, and schedule curbside pick-ups via phone. Please call our office to schedule a pick- up time so we may bring them out of the office for curbside pick-up. You may also elect to have materials directly shipped. We will return any messages left throughout the week within 24 hours. Messages left over the weekend will be returned on Monday.

Dr. Tippett will be available for eye emergencies such as sudden vision changes, injuries, red eyes, and other urgent issues. We will be using telemedicine and in-office treatment. Please call our office so we may address your concerns. Our office will make every effort to help you avoid the emergency room. Please note, no patients will be granted entry into the office without approval of an emergency appointment by Dr. Tippett or a team member.

  • No in office visits

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 1pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday 1pm – 5pm

Augusta/Wrightsboro Road location: Effective Wednesday, March 24th

  • Available for eyewear and contact lens dispensing, curbside pick-up and direct ship only
  • Available for scheduling appointments, questions, orders by phone
  • Available for eye emergency visits, please call with your concern and our team will schedule a visit with Dr. Tippett either by telemedicine or in-office
  • Hours available for curbside pick-up and office emergencies with an appointment ONLY
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9am – 1pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 1pm – 5pm
